gyzelle exudes raw energy, authenticity, power and love from the inside out. As an Afro Indigenous storyteller and healing artist, she views her work as sacred expressions and acts of duty and devotion. Born and raised in Maryland with roots running through Colombia, Honduras and Hispaniola, she is designing a unique world and set of soundscapes that must be experienced live and is sure to both silence and erupt a room with ease.
Her pieces are like quilts comprised of multiple cultures, emotions, and perspectives interwoven; some sung, rapped or recited either entirely in Spanish or English, others a mix of languages. Her musical DNA is vast and heavily infused with reggae, hiphop, r&b, soul, cumbia, salsa, and more.
At the core of her message is the fortification and unification of the human spirit and consciousness. Hoping to embody the desert rose, she aims to serve as a source of upliftment, guidance and nourishment to whom she can, on the walk home, back to ourselves.
She is a singer, songwriter, emcee, poet, dancer, actress, model, filmmaker and producer.
